Surface Preparation "Concrete Surface: Should be free from laitance and other contaminants. So also surface is to be cleaned by sweep blast or treat with power tools to obtain rough and firm surface. If concrete is new check for alklinity of concrete surface and if found to alkaline treat with dilute hydrochloric acid and then to be clean with fresh water till the pH of washing is in between 6-7. Remove oil, grease or any foreign matters by suitable means. "

Surface Preparation "New Steel: Recommended for abrasive blasting to Sa2½. If steel is coated by shop primer, clean all damages to shop primer and also clean the surface free from oil grease and any other foreign particles. Maintenance: Remove oil, grease etc with a detergent wash. Remove salt and other contaminants by high pressure fresh water hosing. Remove all rust and loose materials by abrasive blasting or mechanical cleaning. Dust off residues. For best results remove all loose rust by wire brushing and chipping. "
